This afternoon I’m headed to an art opening for @significantproductions . I can’t wait. I love Matthew’s work. AND, bc I hear he’s leaving the Bay Area, I must go pay my respects. In the mid/late 90’s Matt had a gallery on Valencia and 14th called ESP. I went to nearly every opening. I liked the art but was really there for the people. I met friends and lovers and had a lot of beer and cigarettes on the sidewalk out front. That gallery and those nights helped me fall in love with San Francisco. That scene helped shape my idea of urban community. ESP Gallery is the sole reason I have art shows at Five Pins Project. I want to make space for people to connect IRL the way Matt made space (before we had “IRL”). Yay Matthew Pawlowski! You’re a gem. You’re a gift. This loaf is oat flour, eggs, butter, banana, baking soda, salt, sheep milk yogurt, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, hemp hearts, flax meal, and a handful of Mother’s Best Liver Pills. The light has shifted. The mornings are cooler. Now is the time to prepare for cold and flu season. As a wise woman once said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” I ride public transit, touch sick people all day and have a kid in preschool so I’m doubling down on mushrooms, vitD, probiotics, and broth.
